DRM + Apple + iPad = Αγάπη για πάντα;

Mr. Jobs,

DRM will give Apple and their corporate partners the power to disable features, block competing products (especially free software) censor news, and even delete books, videos, or news stories from users' computers without notice-- using the device's "always on" network connection.

This past year, we have seen how human rights and democracy protestors can have the technology they use turned against them. By making a computer where every application is under total, centralized control, Apple is endangering freedom to increase profits.

Apple can say they will not abuse this power, but their record of App Store rejections and removals gives us no reason to trust them. The iPad's unprecedented use of DRM to control all capabilities of a general purpose computer is a dangerous step backward for computing and for media distribution. We demand that Apple remove all DRM from its devices.

Members of the Free Software Foundation staged a small protest outside today's Apple event in San Francisco, making the case against Apple's use of DRM. The group's four-foot signs were headed with the message "Entering Apple Restriction Zone" and laid out the tablet's detriments:

No free software
No installing apps from the Web
No sharing music or books
We can remotely disable your apps & media

I spoke with John Sullivan, Operations Manager for the FSF and one of the sign wielders, just before the Apple event began. The protest had gone well, in his view, despite a small turnout ("six or seven people" were around when we spoke).

Τι να πω; Πραγματικά απορώ. Για εσάς τους βλάκες εκεί έξω. Το πρόβλημα όπως είπε και η Apple στο παρελθόν δεν το έχει η Apple ΑΛΛΑ εσείς οι ίδιοι.

Αγάπες μου γλυκιές. Αν θέλετε να τα βάλετε με κάποιον βάλτε τα με τη μουσική βιομηχανία και τη βιομηχανία του κινηματογράφου. Με τους εκδοτικούς οίκους και με τις κυβερνήσεις. Βάλτε τα με τον εαυτό σας. Η Apple δεν έχει καμία σχέση με τα DRM και με τα κλειδώματα που εσείς δεχτήκατε από όλους τους παραπάνω και ακόμη περισσότερους.

Τα έχω πει ακόμη και πρόσφατα.

Αλλά τι λέω εδώ μιλάμε για τους απόλυτα ηλίθιους αυτού του πλανήτη! Ένα και πλέον δισεκατομμύριο παρακαλώ! Χρησιμοποιείτε Windows που θέλουν Activation και συνδέονται με τους Server της Micro$oft και της Αμερικάνικης Κυβέρνησης εις το όνομα του πατρός και της τρομοκρατίας.

Δε μου λέτε; Εκείνο το GPS τρομερό ε; Το Blu Ray και το HDMI; Η ψηφιακή τηλεόραση; Καταπληκτικά έτσι;

Όπως λέει και ο σοφός νεοέλληνας: Δεν μας χέζεις ρε Νταλάρα! Η Apple και το iPad σε πείραξαν. ΟΥΣΤ!
