Are you hyped for Alan Wake, a psychological thriller from the creators of widely-loved Max Payne series, Remedy Entertainment? Better get your Xbox 360 ready then... and if you don't have one, then get one.
Why, you ask? Well, according to this statement by a Microsoft spokesperson, as said to Strategy Informer, the PC version is canned:
"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."
Whether you agree with the spokesperson or not (and I'm guessing that most of you don't), the bottom line for PC gamers is that Alan Wake, after having its' development suspended for an extra focus on the 360, is now officially canned... and given the aforementioned development suspension fact which made the PC version seem like an afterthought, it doesn't come off as too much of a surprise, either.
