Ο PC Magας λέει ότι δεν του αρέσει το iPad

I like the iPad, a lot. I like the screen, I like the form-factor, heck, I even like the broad base of apps already available for it from the App Store. But there are aspects of the device that I don’t like, and which I find really hard to overlook.

1. DRM, DRM, DRM
Just because Apple’s given up on DRM for music, don’t think for one moment that it’s given up on DRM. Expect audio books, movies and other stuff to be locked away nice and tight.

2. The lock-in
Basically, the device is one big lock into the Apple ecosystem. Sure, there’ll be jailbreaks I’m sure, but that puts my device in the middle of a tug-of-war between Apple and the jailbreakers.

3. No Flash support
I hate Flash, but web minus Flash is a pretty poor web experience.

4. No removable storage
It would be really cool to be able to store files and on a removable media, such as an SD Card, and swap that data between other iPads and other devices. It would be a good way to bring photos from digital cameras onto the iPad without having to have a PC or Mac as a go-between. Alas, this is not possible.

5. No USB support
I know that Apple likes to have an iron grip over its hardware, and that it likes the revenue stream it gets from licensing the dock connector to third-parties, but I’d really like a USB port on the iPad because it would offer interoperability between my existing hardware and the iPad.

6. Built-in battery
Yes, I still hate the built-in battery.

1. Δεν είναι πρόβλημα της Apple. Είναι ΟΛΟΚΛΗΡΗΣ της βιομηχανίας των Η/Υ και μάλιστα καθιερώθηκε από την Micro$oft. Οπότε πηδήξου από το παράθυρο. Μην τρελαίνεσαι μόνο!

2. Ενώ τα Micro$oft λογισμικά είναι ανοιχτά έτσι; Πχ. μπορώ να έχω το Zune HD στο Mac μου ε; Ή το Zune Marketplace ε; Τα Micro$oft VBA και όχι μόνο Macros; Την μαλακία για το lock-in της Apple να την αναφέρετε σε συνδυασμό με των άλλων εταιριών την επόμενη φορά. ΖΩΑ.

3. Προφανώς έχεις χάσει τα νέα που λένε ότι το 1/10 της πληροφορικής (iPhone+iPod Touch) έχουν γραμμένο ΠΡΑΚΤΙΚΑ το Flash. Κανείς από αυτούς δεν σε ρώτησε τη γνώμη σου για το Flash και αν αυτό είναι χρήσιμο ή απαραίτητο για το Διαδίκτυο (ΔΕΝ είναι).

4. Αχα! Δηλαδή το ότι μπορείς να συνδέσεις το iPad, όπως και τα iPhone και iPod Touch, ΜΕ ΟΛΟΥΣ τους Η/Υ του κόσμου, αυτό δεν είναι είναι ανταλλαγή δεδομένων έτσι; Άσε που νομίζω δεν έχεις ακούσει τίποτα για το iPad Camera Connection Kit, έτσι;

5. Παρόμοιο με το 4. ακριβώς παραπάνω. Τα αξεσουάρ που υπάρχουν και θα υπάρξουν για το iPad ΑΠΛΑ δεν θα παίζονται και ΔΕΝ συγκρίνονται (ευτυχώς) με την ηλίθια Windows φιλοσοφία!

6. Κανείς δεν σε ρώτησε. Στο κάτω-κάτω, η αγορά εδώ και χρόνια με το iPod και τώρα με το iPhone δείχνει να μην την νοιάζει και ψηφίζει Apple με τα χρήματά της; Μήπως αυτό σε κάνει να νιώθεις λίγο μαλάκας που εδώ και χρόνια σας ξεφτιλίζει η Apple παρόλο την λασπολογία σας;
