Megapixels και ανοησίες...

And the iPhone takes the best pictures of any phone I've ever tried. Not by a subtle margin, either.

Apple has wisely abandoned the "my phone has more megapixels than yours" snipe hunt: it's a 5-megapixel cam instead of the 8 found in most new Android handsets. But it takes gorgeous photos that you'll print and hang on your wall, even in low light, even with the (new) built-in flash turned off.

In video mode, the iPhone records at full 720p HD resolution, and its flash turns into a steady-on video light when needed. A new front-facing camera (VGA-resolution) helps with self-portraits and is the key to FaceTime, Apple's new videophone feature. Just dial the number of any iPhone and then press a button: you're video chatting. No account setup, no configuration. Also, no availability outside of the 3G network. It's a WiFi-only feature.

Log in to Suntimes.com on Monday for my full, detailed review with the iPhone's full pros and cons . . . including ambitious video and photo galleries comparing the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 3GS, two Android phones, and a couple of "real" cameras and camcorders.

Due to a tight deadline and an uncooperative desktop, this entire review was written on the iPhone 4, via a Bluetooth keyboard. And that might be the collective signature of this device: it blurs. It's not incorrect to think of, and even use, the iPhone 4 as a sort of "iPad Nano."
