In the off-chance that you missed it, the Apple iPhone 4 went on sale this week. By all accounts--PCMag's included--it's an impressive device. (Check out mobile expert Sascha Segan's Apple iPhone 4 review.) It's faster, sharper, and more powerful than its predecessors and has access to a vast library of applications only a few clicks away. Most of us, however, won't buy one. Either we are trapped into contracts or AT&T's coverage stinks in our hometown. Still, the appeal of the iPhone is palpable—and Apple hasn't even started airing commercials yet. How are the vast iPhone-less masses to deal with the inevitable iPhone envy? I have some suggestions.

Before I start, however, I should say that my interest isn't merely professional. It's no secret that I rushed out to buy a Palm Pre when it first came out on Sprint. Nor is it a secret that the Palm platform has languished and failed to attract meaningful third-party apps. (There are currently 2,595 apps for webOS, and half of them are fart jokes and cheesy pin-ups.) Sure, HP's acquisition of Palm may breathe some new life into the platform, but for now it can hardly be called an iPhone competitor. In this world of hi-tech one-upmanship, carrying a Pre requires an excuse. If you are in the same boat as me, and most readers are, here are some tried and true tactics for combating iPhone envy.

Κάτι τέτοιες στιγμές δεν ξέρω αν θα πρέπει να σας λυπάμαι ή να σας βρίζω ή και τα δύο μαζί.

Καρκίνοι!
