"The operating system is called Windows," claimed Steve Ballmer when asked about Microsoft's plans for the tablet/slate/pad form factor at the company's annual Financial Analyst Meeting on Thursday. He expressed dismay at the iPad's strong sales figures, "[Apple has] sold certainly more than I'd like them to have sold," he said. Ballmer then promised that Windows-powered devices will be shipping "as soon as they are ready," going on to explain that they would get a boost from Intel's low-power Oak Trail platform next year.

The message was clear: Microsoft still doesn't understand why its Tablet PC concept has repeatedly bombed over the best part of a decade. Apple sold more iPads in its first three months of availability than PC vendors sold Tablet PCs in the whole of last year; in fact, the number of iPads sold in that period is likely to eclipse the number of Tablet PCs sold both last year and this. But still the company is persevering: stick a regular PC operating system on a laptop, give it a touchscreen, and then take away the keyboard and pixel-perfect pointing device. Ballmer even reiterated the company's position: slates are just another PC form factor.

ΟΛΕΣ οι εταιρίες την αντιγράφουν. Google, Micro$oft, HP, Dell, κα. ΟΛΕΣ μα ΟΛΕΣ την αντιγράφουν. Γιατί αποτυχαίνουν; Γιατί απλά πολύ απλά μπορεί καρκίνοι μου να αντιγράφετε τον Leonardo da Vinci αλλά αυτό δεν σημαίνει ότι είστε και ο Leonardo da Vinci. Θα θέλατε;

Valve has singlehandedly reinvigorated the Mac gaming world by making its Steam content delivery service compatible with the Mac. It has been steadily populating the service with Mac-friendly versions of its mega-popular games; however, apparently that isn't enough. Now Valve is going to help other developers make Mac games, by releasing elements of its graphics code.

Business development director Jason Holtman told GamesIndustry.biz that Valve will release some code to developers signed on with the company's Steamworks infrastructure, in order to expedite the development of Mac games (and thus speed up the population of Steam). "So our Steamworks partners will have access to some of the hard work that we do to get our games up on Mac," Holtman said, "and they'll be able to incorporate that into their games -- and our hope is it gets them there faster."

Holtman also provided clues as to the success of Steam's Mac edition, stating that "we're seeing between a 15 and 20 percent increase in games that have a Mac version on Steam." It turns out that Mac owners will buy games if they're available!

Εννοείται ρε τσακάλια ότι οι Apple χρήστες αγοράζουν περισσότερο απ' ότι οι φθηνιάρηδες και απατεώνες Windows και Linux χρήστες. ΕΝΝΟΕΙΤΑΙ!!!

Ακόμη και όταν αυτοί οι φθηνιάρηδες γίνουν Mac χρήστες καταλαβαίνουν τι σημαίνει να είσαι Mac χρήστης και αλλάζουν τις κακές συνήθειές τους. Όχι όλοι αλλά αρκετοί από αυτούς.

Βλέπετε, αν μάθεις μια ζωή να είσαι σκουλήκι δύσκολα γίνεσαι μετά πεταλούδα. Εκτός αν είσαι κάμπια. Εκεί έχεις κάποιες ελπίδες. Τα σκουλήκια όμως. Δύσκολα. Πολύ δύσκολα.

Κατά τα άλλα ελπίζω η Valve να μην μεταφέρει τις αηδίες που κάνει η ίδια της ή που κάνουν οι περισσότερες Windows PC εταιρίες στα Mac. ΟΧΙ άλλο κάρβουνο. Έλεος!

Άχρηστο αυτό το HTML5 βρε παιδί μου

Δείτε τα όλα ζωντανά εδώ. Αν δεν τα βλέπετε σωστά βάλτε κάνα σωστό πρόγραμμα για πλοήγηση στο Διαδίκτυο όπως Safari, Opera, Firefox, κλπ. και παρατήστε την αηδία τον Internet Explorer. Μέχρι την έκδοση 9 που ΘΑ βγει που επιτέλους η Micro$oft ξαναμπαίνει στο παιχνίδι...

Όσο για τον Chrome αυτός έχει πολύ δουλειά ακόμη. Μα πάρα πολύ δουλειά ακόμη για να λέγεται πλήρες πλοηγός. Για alpha ή beta έκδοση τον λες πλοηγό. Για πλήρες πλοηγό δεν τον λες με τίποτα γιατί του λείπουν ένα κάρο πράγματα. Καλή προσπάθεια αλλά λίγη μέχρι τώρα.

Και όντως όπως λένε και εδώ ας βγει κάνα παιχνίδι της προκοπής όπως τα παλιά καλά της Sierra και της LucasArts χρησιμοποιώντας τις παραπάνω τεχνικές βρε παιδί μου!

Το StarCraft 2 μπορεί να κάψει τον Η/Υ σας

The installer allows multiple copies of the game to be installed
Unlike previous Blizzard installers, this one will always let you install another copy of the game. It does not check for previous installations so be careful of how many folders you end up making.

Compatibility Modes will not work properly
Attempting to run StarCraft 2 on a compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3 from Windows 7, for example) will make it crash. Please run the game normally.

Certain screens make your hardware work pretty hard
Screens that are light on detail may make your system overheat if cooling is overall insufficient. This is because the game has nothing to do so it is primarily just working on drawing the screen very quickly. A temporary workaround is to go to your Documents\StarCraft II Beta\variables.txt file and add these lines:

frameratecapglue=30
frameratecap=60

You may replace these numbers if you want to.

User report – Security program flagging the beta downloader as a trojan
We had some reports where a security program might flag the beta downloader as a trojan. It is a false positive.

Black Screens
There have been multiple reports of black screen issues being related to the use of a Quick Cam webcam.

In some cases exiting out of the software has resolved the issue but others have reported a need to uninstall the software for the camera in order to resolve the problem.

There are also reports where some security programs like Comodo firewall can cause the game to start and stay on a black screen.

And when it comes right down to it, most of them are trying, by adding all sorts of design elements and super-charged components, to topple the king of the all-in-one: the Apple iMac. As much as other manufacturers try, though, Apple just keeps coming out swinging, each iteration of its iMac besting the last. With its new line of iMacs, Apple gives an excellent overhaul to the already-powerful insides of the iMac, while not raising the price. That's a win for the Mac faithful and potential first-time buyers alike.

The Apple iMac 21.5-inch (Core i3) ($1,199 list) is the latest version of the entry-level iMac all-in-one desktop. It swaps out its previous iteration's Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and Nvidia integrated graphics for a newer dual-core Intel Core i3 processor and ATI discrete graphics. Apple upgraded the iMac's internal components, but left the exterior untouched—going with the philosophy "don't try to fix what ain't broken." Για πολλοστή φορά: Όποιος δεν παίρνει Mac είναι καθυστερημένος και θα πρέπει να τον κοιτάξουν γιατροί. Ή αδαής που δεν ψάχνεται καθόλου μα καθόλου ή καθυστερημένος.

Και όχι κυρίες και κύριοι. Η καραμέλα του ότι είναι ακριβά τα Mac δεν υπάρχει εδώ και πάρα πολλά χρόνια. Βρείτε μου ένα Windows ή Linux μηχάνημα που να έχει την ίδια ποιότητα κατασκευής, μέγεθος, βάρος, θόρυβο, κλπ. που έχει ένα οποιοδήποτε Mac και μετά πείτε μου αν είναι ακριβά. Καθυστερημένοι, ε, καθυστερημένοι.

Τώρα πάλι αν πιστεύετε ότι σας λένε οι "ειδικοί" των Windows περαστικά σας διπλά. Γιατί εκτός από καθυστερημένοι είστε και πρόβατα.

Και καρκίνοι και καθυστερημένοι και πρόβατα. Περαστικά σας.
